Company profile
Marilyn
Bos-de Vaal and Frank Pieterse, graduates of the Art Academy of Utrecht,
founded Art-Line in 1983. We had first intended to do architectural
design. But after being asked to style our first motoryacht, we were
awarded the design of the ultralight interior for the record-breaking
Octopussy, and the even faster Moonraker.

The success of these
superyachts proved, even to us, that we could create an attractive space
within a very complex technical structure. The publicity about these
two yachts spread quickly through the yachting community, and we began
receiving more opportunities to design yacht interiors for semi-custom
and custom superyachts over a wide range of sizes.
Our work is inspired by our training in, and commitment to, contemporary
art and architecture. We try to make each Art-Line interior represent
an ideal balance between function and emotion, the basic ingredients
clients want in a luxury yacht. Art-Line s use of colour, form, and
texture allows us to offer clients wide choices in styling each
individualised space.
But to us, design is not just a matter of
assembling components: it requires our applying insight into clients
personalities and desires to complete each project to their
satisfaction.
Art-Line has created interiors for yachts built at Heesen, Feadship, Holland Jachtbouw, Moonen and Lurssen.
These
have been built for an international list of clients including the
Royal Households of Brunei and Johor Malaysia. We would welcome adding
your name to that list. |
